A long while of silence \u2026 and it\u2019s time to pick the blog back up. \u00a0The last few months have been full of stumbles, of beautiful discoveries, and of some great steps forward. \u00a0I\u2019ve been quiet on the blog front. \u00a0We\u2019ve picked up a number of new followers during the time away from regularly blogging. \u00a0Heads up that I\u2019m currenty rolling up my sleeves and channeling some things I learned earlier in the year during the altMBA<\/a>: \u00a0I have a new goal to pick up the pace on our blog space: \u00a0Backpacks for Dinner.<\/span><\/p>\n

Where have we been? \u00a0And what have been doing? (So, where are we on this initiative?)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Backpacks for Dinner (BFD): \u00a0<\/strong>Yes! \u00a0We\u2019re still gathering each and every Tuesday to put ourselves inside this project. \u00a0The summertime brought more connections our way as we met some new friends, and shared good times with old ones. \u00a0Thank you to many of you who have been a part of those BFD sessions! \u00a0Whew — I\u2019ve got a lot of material for the fall time sharing.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Back-burner simmer: \u00a0<\/strong>The last few months have been a great time to reflect on, revisit, and internalize our discussions <\/span>around the models<\/span><\/a> we want to experiment with as we evolve Badass Backpacks. \u00a0I\u2019ll work with Rusty on how we can start to share more here on the blog about where those discussions have taken us. \u00a0We\u2019re enjoying the conversation (almost too much). \u00a0It will be fun to share more about that experience. \u00a0But, our real focus and use of <\/span>time<\/span><\/i> this summer:<\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019re working on a new bag!<\/strong> \u00a0Long time coming right!? \u00a0I\u2019ll be excited to start talking more here in the coming days about what our \u201cNext\u201d looks like. \u00a0Next steps, next bags, next journeys. \u00a0This new bag\u2019s story is beginning to take shape. \u00a0It\u2019s a bag about finding something in the strangest of places, and maybe even finding a glimpse of ourselves. \u00a0More details coming soon. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And what about Sincerity Inside?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Our first bags have begun selling and we\u2019re slowly <\/span>starting to see<\/span><\/a> them <\/span>pop up<\/span><\/a> around <\/span>the world<\/span><\/a>. \u00a0Thank you to the patrons and Sincerity Inside wearers that have been sending me photos and posting them online. \u00a0If you\u2019re into social media — check us out on <\/span>Facebook<\/span><\/a> and on <\/span>Instagram<\/span><\/a>. \u00a0Our conversations about how we want to take Badass Backpacks to the next step include a lot of discussion about what we want to do with our online storytelling. \u00a0It needs to evolve a bit – there are some amazing, yet untold, stories that are happening right now. \u00a0Instead of moping about how I\u2019ve failed to share those stories over the summer — I\u2019ll choose to simply embrace the fact that I have some neat stories to share about the Sincerity Inside journey. \u00a0We only made 100 bags \u2026 which means that I\u2019m able to keep very close track of who has one — Many of our blog followers own one — and you all are blowing me away with how you are choosing to put yourself inside! \u00a0Keep moving! \u00a0Your stories and conversations are a source of inspiration to me.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some last thoughts:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I\u2019ve been following some new blogs recently and during much of the summer I even carved out some time for reading (when you\u2019re a dad of 3 this is a feat). \u00a0As I sat down to get this blog post up this evening, I glanced through <\/span>Jessica Abel\u2019s recent post<\/span><\/a>, and it comforted me greatly – it made me smile. \u00a0It caught my attention when I saw her Step 1 for grabbing a restart by the horns: \u00a0\u201cStep 1: Self forgiveness.\u201d \u00a0Part of my summertime quietness on this blog has been a compounding feeling of having lost momentum with posting more regularly. \u00a0It\u2019s a shame that I\u2019ve let that feeling compound on top of itself and that I\u2019ve allowed that to be a burden for me. \u00a0Silly really. \u00a0Throwing the \u201cshoulds\u201d out the window, I\u2019m excited to recommit to posting a bit more about what Rusty and I are up to\u2026 not because I should — but because I want to. \u00a0Thank you Jessica! \u00a0I\u2019m loving your blog btw.<\/span><\/p>\n

The equinox is right around the corner. \u00a0And I\u2019m excited to put the summertime heat behind me. \u00a0The equinox is a fabulous time to celebrate winds of change. \u00a0And the wind is blowing. \u00a0It\u2019s Tuesday night people! \u00a0Time for BFD<\/a> — let\u2019s keep moving.<\/span><\/p>\n
